93 honda ex losing all electrical in dash. Then car dies out

1993 honda ex

I've seen a few people post about the same problem. But couldn't pull any answers from it.

The car was running fine the I lost my speedo tac and radio, they were flicking on and off. Then the car died out, lost all power. Had to jump it. Then it ran but would repeat the process. Anybody have any ideas?

Ill go check the alternator. But do you think that the speedo and tac would just cut out by themselves, before the whole car actually lost power?

Not sure how to check the ignition switch though.

Sure.
Your radio quit too.

Just before the engine quit.

I simply observe items that were supposed to remain on when the engine dies. If they quit at the same time, I know why.

Well the alternator is good. And I jumped the car and its running outside right now. When the car dies it dies completely. All power gone and needs a jump.

So...when "it dies completely", the battery is still in great shape but not making a connection somewhere....?

Or the alternator isn't charging the battery.

Sounds like the battery to me or possibly a bad ground/loose wire somewhere. What current are you getting from the battery with the engine off & while running? Should be around 12.5v off and 14.5v while running.
