98 Civic EX factory alarm acting wonky

98 Civic EX factory alarm acting wonky
So I replaced the stock radio head unit with a Sony and used an adapter to keep the o.e. head unit for the factory alarm to keep working.
It's been acting up ever since.
For example, if I deactivate the alarm to open the door, after about 10 seconds the horn will go off 3 consecutive times (honk, honk, honk).
Any ideas what's going on? Should I have somehow "reset" the alarm?
