Grease rear LCA bushings?

I put the ES LCA bushings in my car. The front pancake mounts are fine, the rear ones are too, but they squeak something awful. I'm talking ANY front suspension movement. Accel, decel, bumps, turns, everything. Anyway looking at it under my iphone flashlight tonight I am thinking I can drill the rear of the LCAs and put grease zerks in them. Any of you guys done this?

Urethane? Did you grease before and during installation?
I hear ordinary chassis grease can damage polyurethane over time.

I think a graphite, moly, or silicone based grease would be ok, but you should check with the manufacturer....Check with ES for their grease.

Re: Grease rear LCA bushings?

Ya, used their grease when I installed them. They were fine for about a month, now it sounds like a log truck to everyone else, it drives me batty. I cant stand incesant squeaks. I think they are basically impervious to grease or oil, etc. Don't know that for a fact though. I don't want to take it apart again just to grease it, hence the idea. The rears are the only squeaky ones. They are tight though, just noisy. Have you messed with any of these? The rear bushings are two piece, they go into the arm from both sides, then a bolt tube goes in the bushing. I am thinking there is enough "gap" between the two pieces to act as a resevoir for grease.

Reposition the radio volume **** in a clockwise direction.

Not personally, no. I prefer factory stuff myself, but I don't race or anything. I like low/no maintenance.

A cow-orker installed a set of aftermarket upper control arms with urethane on a 65 Valiant- of all things. Got some insane caster into it. Anyway, that's where I started reading about the grease issues.

Drilling and installing a zerk sounds like a decent idea......if you can get grease to go where needed.

WOW! I will put stock rears back for less. The rears were the fight and they were tight, just in kit so I put them in too. HINDSIGHT = 20/20, shoulda left them...
