Unable to remove the electric connector. 2004 Honda Civic LX
Hi guys,
I am trying to replace the upstream Oxygen Sensor on my 2004 Civic LX.
I am unable to remove the electric connectors. I have tried everything I can! I just dont know how to get it out.
The blue connector is the one I am talking about. Its connected to a metal bracket. I managed to get one part of the connector out, but getting the one connected to metal bracket out has become a pain.
I have marked the part in a red circle in the attached picture. Any help is appreciated. I am holding off on replacing the sensor coz of this problem!
Thanks!

There is a lock tab you must move to release the connector so it can slide off the metal strip.
While pushing the lock tab, you may need to pry it of the metal strip too, they can get tough to move after several years on the road.
Look at the new part to see how it is supposed to work.
Chop it off and ignore it? Just connect to the new sensor and tie the connectors out of the way.

Thanks guys,
I looked at it and cant seem to find which tab to push, I tried pushing it from all different sides, just do not know how to get it out.
I am considering just chopping it off you know! I will drive to a parts store and check out how it works and then remove it once and for all!
Thank you guys! will post how it goes!

Wait...You DON'T have a new one yet?
Durrrrr......
The lock tab will be on the left side of your circle. It is not external.
Between the black wires and the metal tab.
It is flush and hard to see.
I have to use a fingernail or pocket screwdriver to release it, you probably can't hit it with a bare fingertip.

Yeah, I dont have a new one. I thought unless I could figure out how to take out the old one why buy a new one?!
I will look at that tab thing again. I did look at it again could not find it.
In light of this new information, I will do it again!!!!
There is a small gap between the metal bracket and the connector. Maybe I could slide a small screw-driver head into it and try pressing it to one side and see if it slides out.
Thanks for all the info! Will post soon
