02 honda civic ex slightest tap at accel
Hello all!
Quick question for everyone! i have a 02 honda civic ex with 150100 miles on it and i love this thing! ive had a few minor issues with is but its a used car so what can you do? anyway! i recently had the valves adjusted at 150000 miles and the engine sounds great! before i could hear the valves rather well when driving and idleing but since the adjustment the car had been much quiter! BUT ive noticed on accel with the car at operating temp i can notice the slightest valve noise and i mean i have to be driving with no ac or radio or anything on to noice it. car performance is as good as ever and i dont leak or burn oil. (i check my levels once a week to be safe). anyway is this just normal noise? its a chance its not even a valve or engine noise for that matter because i do have an alternator that is probably on its way out. any advice or thoughts would be great!

"It's a machine, it's allowed to make noise" I must admit I rather like that. And thanks for the posts guys I appreciate the reassurance that the vehicles fine I'm just bein paranoid.

Those aren't the quietest engines in the world.
But we can't hear what you hear either.
If you have to turn all noisemakers off to hear it, it probably isn't anything to worry about.

"We can't hear what you hear either" very very true. Its good to know that it's not a terribly quite engine. But I must say its much quiter than my old 96 dodge neon!

Hard to tell without hearing it, but checking your oil is not a bad idea..change it if its due..
or you could buy a late model V8 Mercedes Benz.. haha
Just so you know 4 cylinder engines are not the smoothest or quietest engines..its just part of the design.
