Honda Civic 2010 LX - how to reset SRS/airbag light?

I have a honda civic 2010 LX. The light came on shortly after I bought it used, then I took it to dealership and they said it threw code DTC 11-40, and I had to pay $1,000 to fix it.

However, after this, the light has not come on, till now, about 2 months later. How do I reset it again? It seems things are located in diff places than this video. I do see under the steering wheel near gas pedal a yellow thing similar to what video is showing here. Is that it?

I have included a picture of what I see in mine.

BTW, I recently opened the hood, then closed it, and airbag light went off for one week. It's back on again today.

You can watch my video, works the same.

And yes, it is that clip. SRS should be the only yellow clip.

If you're SRS system is throwing a code, it'll come back on after about 2 weeks.
At that point, you'll have to do a diagnostic

Re: Honda Civic 2010 LX - how to reset SRS/airbag light?

Kenny, thanks! So it's the yellow thing with two brass and two blue wires that shows in my picture? I ask because it has different wires than any of the other pictures I've seen.

BTW, I had taken it to the honda dealership and they said the code was

DTC 11-40 faulty driver's airbag

the car had been in a wreck a few years ago. After the dealership found the code from diagnostic, I did not see the light again for about 2 months.

When I did see it last week, I opened/closed the hood one day and it went off for another week, but now it's back on again.

Thanks!

Also, another person told me this:

"the MES plug should be located behind the knee cover so you will
have to remove it to reset it also if the light went of when you
closed the hood disconnect the battery and on the frame rails check
the airbag sensor connection"

I'm not sure where the knee cover is? Does he mean the car battery? How long to disconnect? Where are frame rails and how to check the airbag sensor connection?

Good grief. I just opened and tightly closed the hood again, and the light is no longer on.

I am thinking the guy is right about the airbag sensor. The thing is, I have no idea where that is so I can check the connection on it?

If I need to replace it, would that require reprogramming? I saw you can buy replacement ones for $50.

The wreck had been on the passenger side.

Ok, what do you do if your MES has 4 holes? Which ones do you put the paper clip in?
