Head warped beyond repair..What are my options?

02 LX 180,xxx with D181A 1.7L. Head is warped 16 thousands'. All shops said that is too much to machine. I bought this car already broke, and was hoping to get by with a new gasket or mill the head. Anyway, I'm leary of some salvage yard motors but can't seem to find a good used head locally. Are there any other heads that will bolt up other than what I have without alot of work and electronics? Any opinions on whether to buy a used motor or stick with trying to find a head??

FYI-I drove the car a few miles before we took off the head..no smoke, no tics or loud noises, and seemed to have decent power. I know it had to get hot to warp that bad, but the lower end appears to be decent.
