Im new and looking for a first car.
I've looked at KBB values and not many people seem to sell for as low as KBB states.

How much would you pay for a clean title strong running Honda Civic 1997 HX vtec 5 speed manual with 128k miles?
Shifts good according to the description.
Pretty clean inside and out.
What should I look for when checking out the car?

KBB is pretty accurate when seeing how much a car is worth.

Make sure there is no check engine light. Check the oil and make sure its not low, or black, and check all other fluids. Ask for recent service records on the car. Ask them why they are getting rid of it. And if your set on buying it I would do a car fax report ($30 but worth it) to make sure the car has not been in any accidents.

Usually if the inside of the car is nice and not ripped apart, that shows that it has been taken car of and not beat up. MOST of the time. Good luck.

Give the car a good test drive i def wouldnt put up money after just putting around the block or just hearing it run. Take your time and go over the car really well and if possible look up under it to check for any fluid leaks on the bottom side.
