2003 EX overheat and p420 code

2003 EX overheat and p420 code

car overheats, lower radiator hose was cold at operating temp. replaced the thermostat, still cold lower radiator hose, now temp gauge reads higher temp. CEL code comes back p420 -- catalytic converter -- any thoughts

They are not related. Fix the overheat issue first its more important at this time.

Top off your coolant at the radiator and check the level in your overflow tank.
Is your heat hot at operating temperature?
