Should I install my Coilovers Myself?

If you are good mechanically it shouln't be too hard to figure out; however, if you just don't have a clue but don't want to fork out the $$$ then I suggest you find some people to would know what they are doing and help you... I installed my skunk 2's... if you need help, ask me.

I would say do it yourself if you have the know how and the tools, or get a few of your buds together have a few and go at it. Otherwise you might want to dig deep and have a pro do it.

do you need a spring compressor or what? on my bros 98 hatch we are going for a tein coilover setup so i think im just gonna rip all that crap out and install them
If you don't know what you are doing don't do it cuz if you try and f*ck up then you will have to pay anyhow. Plus if you don't have the equipment it makes it really hard. It is quick and easy if you have access to a lift and all the proper tools i.e. a spring compresor and helps if you have some knowhow.
Side note: hey RoBBUsaF did you do yours on base?

I just got a -full- coilover system and don't feel like paying the $200 to have it done at a shop.. I'm just wondering if I'll need a spring compressor. since I think they're only used to remove the factory struts or something?

do B&Gs come with upper top mounts? if you dont know what that is...
are the shocks and springs seperate? or are they together and would require you to remove a top bolt to get the springs out?

damn the front ones are so small, since their true coilovers i was expecting something bigger....
from the pictures it looks like it only comes with parts of the top mount so you would have to take apart your stock springs/shocks. it doesn't look like you would need to compress them in order to put the top mounts ON however, but yes you would still have to take the stock ones off. i would think you could be able to do it, it wont be as easy as 1-2-3 but with patience you should be able to finish it in a couple hours(since its your first time). if you do decide to attempt it just remember to read my detailed DIY before you do.
