Tranmission Slipping

2001 honda civic

Transmission fluid changed @ 50 k, 100k, 145k,

I noticed some slipping when the veh is cold from 2nd to 3rd gear.

I decided to get another fluid change - ~162k, dealer advised I go to Canadian Tire and pick up some Lucus Transmission Fix, they added that in.

I still have the same problem. Any advice on what I should do and how much longer this transmission can go for before dying. Transmission cooler a sugestion ?

Thank You.

Re: Tranmission Slipping

It sounds like it's time for a trans job. 3rd gear clutch is burnt. Probably will get worse rapidly now.

I'd advise you to get it taken care of while it still drives and you can make an appointment at a shop, or else you will pay for a tow truck too, and at the worst possible time for it to strand you.

At our dealer, your only choice is a factory reman trans.
Next business day service in most cases.
We don't rebuild them at the dealership.

Re: Tranmission Slipping

Mine has been slipping slightly when cold for 100k km, just change the fluid semi-regularly and it has the potential to last a very long time even if it's already slipping.
