I haven't voided mine yet, waiting till I hit the mile marker, then will do some more mods, voiding the warranty is simply adding to your car which will affect the engine some how. Depending on the dealership it might or might not void your warranty. Check with them what you can or cannot do. Some thing like a CAI might void your warranty, but you could always put the stock air box back in when you go to the dealership.

Different dealers will tell you different things. The common consensus on the board is that honda has to prove the aftermarket parts caused something to go. I don't know whether this is right or not. If you ask me, i/h/e isn't going to doing anything negative to car.

Anyhow, I didn't buy my honda for the warranty. Warranties don't sell hondas. Hondas sell hondas.

very true mbow, and everyone else has it right. Alot depends on the dealership, but if it would ever go to court they would have to show that your mod caused the failure or put the vehicle out of design specs. Peace

In legal terms in the state of California the warrenty isn't voided unless Honda can show without a doubt that the aftermarket part was the direct cause of the problem. Like the service writer was trying to tell me that I had to pay to have my car looked at since I had an aftermarket intake. I got the service manager out there and he told him that is wasn't going to cost anything and the warrenty wasn't voided and to fix whatever was wrong with it free of charge.

Auto Parts Customer's Bill of Rights

with that, they really cant void your warranty unless if the aftermarket part is the direct cause. this might not apply to canadian dealerships, not really sure

I can guaruntee they won't put the thing on for you since they would then have to carry an in house warrenty on it. Some dealerships will put on aftermarket parts but the way it sounds your dealership sucks and they are pr!cks. According to American Honda aftermarket parts don't void the warrenty unles they can prove it is the direct cause of the problem and I know here in Cali that holds true.

it will not void your warrently. Check this. My car was thier showroom car. It came from them with dc sports front strut tower bar, 205/40/17 rims on toyo proxies. as a DC Sports TCS. I got that installed when I bought the car, and I have a 100,000 mile warrently. Your dealer is a liar.....

Your situation is different. The reason your warrenty is not voided is because Honda was the company that put on your aftermarket parts. When a dealership does that they have to carry an in house warrenty on their work. That is why a lot of dealerships won't install aftermarket parts.

Stuff like that should not void the warranty. They're basically bolt ons. A turbo would void your warranty but I see no reason why this would. Just check around at other dealerships and see what they say.

If they give you **** about aftermarket parts tell them to look up the Magnuson-Moss Warrenty Act. Then tell them to kiss your Tell your dad to go to SEMA there is info on this question there.

I noticed you're from Tampa, FL. What dealership you going to?
My brother is a salesman at Riverside Honda ( I think thats what it is) and he's good friends with 1 of the owners.. I'll give him a call and see whats what, if it's the same dealership.

it really does depend on your dealership...i dropped my car, put on a universal exhaust, cleared the headlights, got new rims and tires, and changed all the stereo equipment, the dealership still has my car under full warranty well except for the suspension since i changed that already but my transmission, engine, and everything else is still under warranty. I took my car in for the free oil change 2 times and they said they wanted to have my car there to show the potential of the 7th gen civics for new buyers...

The tranny on my '99 went out after about 50k miles (bearings and damaged shift fork) and the dealer said they wouldn't cover it because my car had been lowered!

Their excuse was, "Because you lowered the car it changed the angle of the axles and put undue stress on the transmission."

If that's not a crock of BS I dunno what is.
