4 APEXi VTEC CONTROLLER USERS

i was in the local performance shop today and i was talking about a VTEC controller on our cars and they said that it throws a check engine light on....then i asked my HONDA dealership that does all my installs and they said as long as its not set to engage VTEC at ungodly times the light should be off and the controller should work...i saw a few memners with the same tool and wanted to know if you had a check engine light come on or what

id be really carefull about trying to engage vtec earlyer on our cars. i mean they say it should be fine, but its not their car. the check engine comes on for a reason, and its never a good thing. i just didnt hook up the stolinoid to the v-tec wire and you get a boost in power jsut by being able to tune your fuel, .3-.4 seconds quicker at the track for me with light mods. I use my v-tec wire to triger my nitrous, but im doing some reasearch right now as too why EXACTALLY it dosnt work in out cars, once i get it all worked out, i'll post it, but until then, i wouldnt try to hook it up to your car. honda engines are REALLY complex and not knowing what your doing can seriously damage your engine.
