05' Cp VP, SRS Module replacement, Which one?
Hey folks...tough question:
So I pulled a code 7-2 or 7-3 something from my SRS. Basically SRS module/unit failure. Was poking around, and saw them in the +$200 range
So I's looks on craigslist. Happen to find one listed for an 03-05 Cp VP, part number 77960-S5A-A871-M1...condition used but questionable (cause who really knows) but the guy says he got new bags and didnt specify the correct unit (or something similar) and didnt use it. Fair enough. (or maybe wrong to begin with?? hmmm...)
So I thought I should cross reference those numbers with your basic internet parts source. THIS: 77960-S5A-A88 is what I found...notice the last few numbers change. They look veeeery similar, like same connectors an what not.
So...same part?
If so, do these things need "reprogramming" or something? And im not talking about the paper clip jumper, I can handle that...
Are they model specific? AKA one for a 4 door wont work in the 2 door?
Im tired of that damn SRS light glaring at me, and concerned about the resale value. An no, im not removing the bulb either, I've been itchin for another DIY to post...
thanks for the input

It's a crapshoot... The only way to know is if someone here has done it and knows or by calling Honda and asking.. Cuz, they will know for sure.. HAHA
