Cabin air filter

Anybody have experience changing their cabin air filter? The dealer wants $$$, but I'd rather try it myself. I hear it's a pain in the ***. Anyone?

Re: Cabin air filter

it says in the owners manual. pop off the two clips holding up the glove box, let it fall down to the floor, then look in back for a small door you unclip. then pull out both filter boxes and replace the filters or leave them out for more airflow. pretty easy no tools needed.

My owners manual simply says have your dealer change the filter. Assuming I am looking at the right place in the owners manual under dust and pollen filters.

Yup. Does someone need to explain this?
Anyone that owns and/or drives any vehicle must always return to the authorized franchised dealership for all services, no matter how small the service.

That's it. Also can be called HEPA and HVAC filters by some people.
Figure out how to get the glovebox to open up wide, the cabin filter is behind it.

7th gen uses a pair of skinny rectangular filters side-by-side, newer cars (8th and 9th gens) use a larger single square filter.

Re: Cabin air filter

Have owned this 2007 civic LX for a little over 24 hours now. My plan is Easter weekend give it to my granddaughter to drive back and forth to college. I just pulled the glove box open and there are no clips on either side. I have changed the cabin filter in my odyssey but the civic is different. Anyone here have experience with the 2007?

Re: Cabin air filter

Sometimes the clips cant be seen from inside the glovebox, just just squeeze the sides and the glove box will fall down

Just squeeze the sides in.

EDIT: Boy, I'm slow.
