Honda civic body work

Hey everyone I'm new to this site and to Honda's. Im 17 and my first car is a 1995 Honda civic EX with a D16z6 5 speed manual. i picked it up for $1600 and 166k miles, the car has no running problems but the body does have a few spots of rust and a dent in the fender. I was thinking about getting the body done after winter, i got quotes and they say its about $3500 i was thinking about doing it but that is more then i expected but am undecided i could see myself owning this car forever. is it worth it?

That's all up to you. $3500 is about right, maybe a little cheap, for a decent paint job.

**** that! go to macco! they fixed up my last car and painted it for less than 2 g's. it was a nissan 200sx and it had dents on 3 sides of it. they replaced a fender shaped up the other fender. replaced headlights, corner lights, took the dents out of the door. they replaced a side mirror and painted it black. here it is before i sold it. and it still looked like new.

Re: Honda civic body work

^^ And you can tell it wasn't sanded enough. I'm not saying it looks bad, it just looks like an aftermarket paint job.

If I was going to keep the car "forever" then I'd go with the good paint job. If I was only going to have it a few years then I'd prep it myself and get the MAACO job. It's half the price if you prep it yourself and you get the added benefit of better prep. A car the size of the Civic takes 3 guys 2-3 days to prep right (that's pretty much all sanding).
