Pros of 7th:

Better styling. Lower emissions. More interior room. Evolution of a great car.

Cons: Front end (MacPherson strut) is costly to upgrade and does not promote the superior handling characteristics of the double wishbone suspension. Engine bay is smaller and will not accept plentiful and cheap engine upgrades. ULEV engine has fuel system and emissions demands that will make some modifications illegal, and thus not widely produced.

NO Si in a coupe format. My only reason for sticking to the EX. I personally do not like the hatch back, but some may find it appealing.

A 2000 Ex is easier and cheaper to make into a 300 hp car, right now, the 2k1 is destined to be much slower. But if all you really want are looks and great reliability, then the 2k1 is a good choice. Suspension products will come, mostly because it shares the design with the RSX. Most aftermarket companies will only offer emissions friendly products like intakes, cat backs, and headers. Also the cat configuration of the EX and other models is different, so that is a factor on how many parts you can get for them.

Tough question b/c anybody with a <7th gen will say worse and anyone =7th gen will probably say better. I think it feels like a more solid car, and looks alot better too. It doesn't really matter. Since you can't purchase new 6th gens, you either get a new car or a used one. It's clear which of those choices is better.

I had a 95 EX Coupe and now a 01 EX Coupe and I personally like the interior of the 01 much better, I think the 01 is a little bit quicker, but the 95 seemed to handle better. That's why I'm starting to work on the suspension next !

well i have a 7th gen sedan and my bro has a 6th gen hatch.

the brakes are much, much better on the 7th gen, interior trim is a lot nicer (a bit upmarket?) and the layout of the controls seem much more logical.

cons just include a lack of parts for 7th gen compared to 6th gen (well in australia at least)

7th gen: nice solid feel to it, very nice interior and controls for a car in this class, better gas mileage, better safety ratings, and no rear hump in back seat area. But crappy, fragile suspension (may have been improved for the 02) and too many interior rattles (again, may have been improved for 02). Rear end too bouncy.

6th gen: better all-around (and more durable) suspension due to double wishbone on all corners. Interior definitely not as nice. Not as fuel efficient and does not get 5-star safety ratings.
