I finally had my turn
thats right, i finally had my turn behind the wheel of the 2002 Civic Si Hatch. I know lots has been said about peoples expierences with this car, and i thought that i could add one more. Just cause what else am i gonna do on this sunday morning!?! Ok so here it goes:
First reaction UGLY!! maybe thats because it was in that inca pearle color, but the over-all shap just didnt do it for me. When i sat down i thought the seats were ok, but if you have ever sat in Milanos, or Torinos by Sparco, then there is no comparison. Sparco has my money when it comes to new seats. The shifter didnt bother me that much, it felt ok, but i still love the postion on the 2k1/2k2 shifter out of all the civics i have ever driven. Then i started down the road. I noticed under hard and soft acceleration the engine had a bit of a whine to it, but i thought, with aftermarket exhaust that would be taken right out. It wasnt as peppy as i thought it was gonna be, it didnt press me against the seat when VTEC kicked in like my friends prelude, but its also lacking 40hp compared to that. Dont get me wrong, very quick, but not nimble. I had the chance to throw it around some turns, and it did ok with that. It is for sure an attention getter though, or maybe that was just the hiddeous color. sorry to all the 2k1/2k2 civic coupe owners that have the same type color, just not my fav.
Over all, not too bad. Maybe my expectations where set much higher thats all. Still happy with my civic, but i wouldnt mind the K20 series engine in my car with the 200hp to boot. It would take some growing onto me for me to really enjoy, but i could get use to it eventually i think.

Rep Power: 0 Yeah we got one here in town the other day, the same ugly color too, I saw it in the dealers lot but it was like 9 at night so I couldnt take it out, but I looked at it and am still not sure what to think of it.
