I have driven 60 miles after the gas light came on and filled it up with 12.50 gallons after that. I believe that the gas light comes on once you reach roughly 3 gallons left in you tank. I have filled up my tank immidiately after the gas light came on and discovered that I could put in nearly 12 gallons. You do the math, that means there is alot more room for gas then just the 13.2 gallons Honda says there is in the manual. I usually get 33MPG in my 5spd LX coupe that I drive like its stolen.

I've gone about 75 miles since the light came on 'cause i couldn't find a gas station. Usually, I fill my car up a little after the light comes on and i put in 10 or 11 gallons. I drive a manual EX and get about 37 mpg.

my gas light used to come on when i had used 10.5 gallons or so, but now it has started coming on when ive used around 9 sometimes, it can be erratic though, once it didnt come on until i had used like 11.5-12 gallons

the most i've gone with the light on is 70 miles.......the gas light is very screwy though-sometimes it comes on and i can fit only 9 gallons and sometimes i fit almost 12........it's like whoa-really comforting to know that it's so accurate......

I have the same problem with my light going on erratically. Has any one dealt with Honda about this problem yet?

I usually fill my ride up when I see a chevron and the gas is cheap, but only had the gas light come on twice since I owned the car. But if its getting near 1/4 of a tank I usually fill it right up. Always want to have a decent amount of gas in the tank, just incase I am in the middle of the dessert or in a gheto area and I run out not a great place to leave the ride.

With an automatic LX, I've driven about 65 miles after it has came on. If your math is correct then you SHOULD get 99 miles without filling it up. Dont stress about it, especially drvin home from a BW3's on tuesday nights.
