Ok here's the deal. I'm new to this forum. Not to Honda though. I have owned 2 integra and a civic. And loved each one. I currently own a 93 geo metro xfi.5 speed. I have replaced almost everything mechanically on the car. I work at Toyota of greensburg turnin wrenches. Now I want t trade my geo for a civic or integra. Get back into Honda. I found a 95 civic 2 door with the d16z6 motor. Its rough but no rust. Shaved side molding off. the guy bought a shell....then a wrecked auto and put the motor in the shell. It's all torn apart but everything for the car is there. he started it and the car had a weird idle. I guess it went high then low and repeated. but not particularly like a bad or dirty idle control valve. he says he thinks the timing is off. but none of the vacuum lines are on or are mix matched I bet. but sounds fine. no weird noises. no nothing. needs a ton of work. my geo needs nothing. Idk the miles on the motor or tranny. but I just think this kid is in over his head. where I can turn the thing around. needs paint and some body work. side skirts and headlights. speakers and head unit are gone. but anything I need I can take out of his parts car. which is identical to the one I want just had an auto in it. worth the trade? I'm a mechanic and have access to a lot of tools and brains. but also don't wamt to buy this and regret it.
