New 2011 Civic Si! Shifting Question

Hello everyone!

I made a thread here about locating a 2010 or 2011 Civic Si and finally located and bought a new Dyno Blue 2011 Si Sedan

I just had a question about shifting I feel very weird shifting in it, mind you, i am going from a 2010 SS Camaro to this, so it is Very different.

What RPMs should i be shifting at for stoplight to stoplight commutes? it feels like i have to go through 3 gears just to get up to 35 without sounding like im driving like a *******(high revving the gears)

I love this car, and i think it is so funny that i like it more than a 2010 SS Camaro, but then again i really didn't like the Camaro in the first place, wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

So could you guys give me a good "tutorial" on Civic shifting? I have never owned a engine smaller than 8 cylinders..

Re: New 2011 Civic Si! Shifting Question

That's the joy of having a manual. Being able to choose when to shift! Hondas, and many other 4 bangers have to be revved much higher to get any type of power. I tend to shift around 3,000RPMS on my daily commute. It returns good fuel economy and is enough power to keep up with traffic. It might be a little lower with the newer Sis. I drove one a while back and I was shifting pretty early compared to mine.
