Friend's 02 compare to my 01...
I just drove my friend's 02 and compare to my 01 it really drives better. It's very noticable the way the car react to bumps. My car rides kinda harsh over big bumps and the rear end bounces all over the places. His feel a lot more solid when hitting bumps and bounces a lot less. Not to mention the steering feel/tracks better at high speed. Overall the handling improved by a fair amount dispite Honda claims "minor adjustment" made to the 02.
Dont quote me because I dont have a 2k1 to compare but the guy who aligned my car after I lowered it claimed that the suspension on the 2k2 is different than the 2k1. Like I said I cant compare but I like my 2k2 just fine.

I know for a fact that Honda retuned the spring/shock for the 02. But didn't expect it to make that much difference. Actually he has a Civic LX and I have an Acura EL. But the improvement is so big that I would take his car anyday over mine. Right now the handling/ride of my car feels like a econo box made in late 80s....hopefully when KYB shocks become available I'll put that on along with Pro Kits and we'll see what happens.

yup i noticed that too. i had a 01 for 3 months then it got totalled n now got a 02. the 01 was a pretty nice ride except it was bouncy. the 02 is the same ride but it isn't as bouncy... hopefully this is better news on my stock shocks cause i'm planning to drop it soon.

Hmmm, I'm not sure if that's true. I don't find my 2k1 to be bouncy at all. HOWEVER, my car indicates that it was manufactured in late 2k1...could this mean i have the stiffer suspension too? Someone told me that you can tell what year the car is from the vin # and they told me that mine says its a 2k2?

you know if you have a 2k2 by the cup holders. and if you have an lx you could tell by the door handles. n also i think it says what month/year your car was made on the side of your door.
