tricked out trunk diy
hey guys, i know there is a lot of posts about this that go NOWHERE so i figured i'd be the one to fix it. i just did this to my trunk and i will give all instructions.
================
Flip-Flop Trunk Lid Instructions
----------------
Materials:
1 - 2" Window Bolt (7 screws included)
2 - 3" Lt Strap Hinges (13 screws included)
----------------
Instructions:
1. With trunk open, mark the trunk lid at the top of the stock brackets.
2. Remove your trunk lid by unbolting 4 bolts. Do not remove the stock brackets, only the trunk lid.
3. Attach the flat side of the enclosed hinge to trunk lid below the marked. With the bottom of the hinge facing down.
4. You will have to bend hinge.
5. With help reattach trunk lid to stock brackets using curved hinge. Be sure to pre-drill all holes before mounting new hinge. This hinge will create the fold down effect.
6. Connect enclosed latches about 2 inches from the bottom of the trunk lid. Be sure they are mounted on the inside of the stock brackets.
7. Mark a spot on the stock bracket to drill to allow the latches to latch. Be sure the latch will latch tightly. If it doesn't latch tightly you may have to replace the stock bottom bolts each time you want to fold down you trunk lid.
i wont take full credit cause i found this on automotiveforums.com

Does having a Flip-Flop trunk reduce the opening to our trunk...What I mean is that would it make it harder to get large objects into the trunk. Also, does it affect trunk space in any way by having extra parts or stuff. Thanx.

Nope, actually might make it easier to load SOME things. And you can still use the window latches to lock the trunk into it's old configuration.
Doesn't cut down on trunk space at all!
I got it done on my car i have a few pic on my member rides.Tricked Trunk.

Can someone who has a flip-flop trunk tell me the part numbers or models you used, where you buyed it or put some close view pictures of theses parts so I can go to the store get the right ones.
