Exhaust
Exhaust
My original exhaust finally rusted through. I replaced it with a Pace Setter Monza cat back but... of course they sell you a universal system for all 2 door and 4 door LX/DX/EX. Well, I have an EX (1995) and the over the axle pipe rest directly on the anti-sway bar. My budget isn't much for this exhaust.
Initially I was going to purchase one of the N1 full cat back ebay specials for $110 shipped, and then find an axle back exhaust to marry to it to avoid driving around with a fart can on the car. Well, it seems that the only axle back systems under $100 have the same can on them so I went with the Monza from Pace Setter.
I did find a company that sells a straight mandrel bent system and asked if I could just purchase the over the axle piece and they said no problem. However, I was back under the car and it looks like the Pace Setter muffler is too long, and the inlet is too low on the muffler, to give enough clearance to Frankenstein something together.
I have searched Google for days trying to find a solution. I do have a 4-2-1 Megan Racing header because it was cheaper than replacing the stock manifold with a broken O2 sensor in it and have a short ram intake with K&N filter installed. I would like something better than OE exhaust (designed to rust out makes me mad enough not to buy Walker or Bosal) but don't want anything loud or flashy. I know, this subject has been beaten to death and 20 people will tell me 20 different things, and the rest will tell me to research the forum, which is why I joined
btw. Stock cat back system is about $220 shipped, my budget is <$300. I really just need to find an axle back that isn't a fart can and marry it to the N1 ebay cat back special. Thanks. Oh, also, the people that sell the straight through exhaust also say it will fit the 1994-2001 Acura Integra 1.8L. Anyone had success using an Integra exhaust? mostly wondering about the over the axle and sway bar clearance. Thanks!
