just asking for a little help

well today i decided i would go ahead and clear my headlings. i partially removed the bumper, thanks to a post, and removed the two headlights. i pulled apart the back and front piece by heating the top and side of the headlight with a hair dryer. now i removed the two screws from the chrome but i am having trouble getting the chrome piece out. i read you pull from the pointed end and be careful not to break it. i think i may just be a little paranoid that i may break the chrome piece because everything else was easy and this is giving me trouble. anybody having any tips on getting the chrome piece out? thankx

i know you all might be wondering if i have done a search. well i've actually have been researching about clearing my headlights. many topics talk about having to remove bumper, i only partially removed because i have no one to help me and i got this info by doing a search, getting the black stuff off, prying apart the two pieces, usage of silicone, etc... i just was wondering about that chrome piece cuz i'm parnoid about breaking it.

ya the chrome piece is kinda hard to take out... some people bent a lil of the corner(the part closest to the middle of the car) in order to get it out... you have to try to slide it out from the top of the headlight. i used plastic gloves n got underneath the chrome n slid it out.

i dunno how i would go about explaining how i got my chrome pieces out.........but i didn't have to bend or chip anything.........i just kinda messed with um until i found the right angle and they came out no problem.........as far as the black stuff goes i used denatured alcohol rather than rubbing alcohol and i didn't take off any chrome......i think those are two diff. types of alcohol......hopefully others read this before tackling the DIY.
