After market HID's burn stock housing?

Whatsup guys im new to the clubcivic. I just bought a 97 civic and put the 99-00 front clip on it. I have after market black housing headlights. I also bought the type r fog lights.... the fog lights seemed to had been cheap because they have burned the center lightly brown..... Now my question is i dont want the same thing to happen to my new headlights.....has anyone had this same problem??

headlights are usually okay because there is a large space for heat to dissipate. fogs are too small and the bulb is very close, plug its a small sealed lamp.

its hard to do, usually the glass will break if you pry it open. better to just get new ones.

Re: After market HID's burn stock housing?

different parts, some are better than others. if they seem like same size, 01-05 civic lens does not burn. but 03+ acura rsx does. so my brother ended up using the civic reflectors in his rsx and no problems.
