My civic is loosing quite alot of coolent within a month , this isnt normal, and atleast once a month when i start the car a clod of smoke shoots out from teh exhuast, my mechanic thinks this is due to a headcasket being craked or broken , can any please tell me its something else other than that ?????? i heard a head casket is alot of money,

Re: Civic HeadCasket :(

it has to be the head gasket. youre burning coolant in the engine which is very bad. get it fixed asap.

Re: Civic HeadCasket :(

you need...

-headgasket
-intake mani gasket
-exhaust gasket
-oil
- honda coolant
-10 new head bolts

for the basic materials if you are taking it to a shop to have it done. usually costs 500-700. 1000 is way too much and ripoff.

the materials need to change the head gasket aren't that much. The labor will kill you though. If you can get someone to help you for less than a mechanic, do it.
