1991 Honda Civic advice
1991 Honda Civic advice
Hello:
I am new to the Forum. I am purchasing a Honda Civic 1991 LX from a colleague of my wife. It has only 59K on it believe it or not (his elderly mother's car). It has never had a timing belt change that I can determine so that is obviously an immediate priority. I have located a genuine Honda belt but the kit also comes with a OEM Nippon Seiko (NSK) tensioner and OEM Paraut water pump. Are these really oem and are they good parts?
Any advice on these parts is much appreciated and any further comments on the 1991 Civic and what I should expect maintenance wise is also appreciated. I do my own work and am pretty handy with brakes, struts etc., although this is only my second timing belt (the first was Volvo). I have read posts here on DIY timing belt and have ordered a manual.
From what I have read on this Forum this Honda should have a lot of life left.
Thanks
Gene
