is there certain dimensions i need to follow for my 98 civic? i found these on craigslist today

i have a 97 civic dx which i bought with 17" rims on it and it was alright, they were an offbrand rim with 205/40's on them but if acceleration or speed is the route u wana take go smaller. I know Enkei's are light but 17's tend to rub easily if your car is even stock height like mine is. Also the bigger your rims are, the harder it is for your engine to get them rolling which decreases overall horsepower but can give you better freeway gas mileage because of the momentum they carry at higher speeds. bottom line 17's = showy rims on a civic
