ok i am about to buy new headers for my 98 honda civic lx with a d16y7 engine but i cant find any i can only find headers for a 98 civic ex my question is are they the same engines and will ex headers with on my lx?

well i believe they are different. the lx has the catalytic converter in the header and the ex has a separate pipe for the catalytic converter. You would need some more mods to make it work. your options are to get a cat and catback for an ex or you could run a testpipe and new catback. I should remind you that an exhaust is only as effective as its smallest diameter so getting new headers is only good if u do the rest of the exhaust.
