Replacing thermostat for fan bypass crx dx

hi
my crx dx 85 has a home made bypass fan switch,
i am going to put it back original factory settings, so ive
considered putting a new thermostat in the radiator,
and then replug the electrical wires there.
there seems to be some electrical wires behind the carburetor,
do you think that is related to the fan switch bypass?
also what other parts should be replaced, or be checked so that the fan
will automatically spin.
thanks for the needed help

i believe there is a fan temp sensor near the thermostat which tells the fan when to turn on. you may need to reconnect the wires for it.
