Opinions Needed on LED Tail Lights
Opinions Needed on LED Tail Lights
Ok, I'm sure i'm not the only one with this dilemma, but here it is. I want to get LED tails for my '02 EX Coupe. I ordered one pair from SlickCar, which, by the way took forever to get here, and once they finally did, they were the wrong color, one was cracked and one was not working right. If they had worked right I would have used them but there was one other flaw with the ones I purchased. It's a set of "LED" tail lights, but the backup lamp is still a standard bulb! (Brand Name is DEPO)
My goal is to have LED for ALL the lights in the tail. Do these exist? Sometimes it's hard to tell in the images if they're 100% LED.
why am I so dead-set on full-led? trunk full of ICE stuff! I'm lazy and don't want to take out the subs to change a light bulb...
What are youre experiences with LED Tails?

my whole car minus the H4 headlights and H11 foglights is LED
LED tailights refer to the running / brake light being LED. the others are still a bulb but they do make LED bulbs (what i got) and u also need a LED flasher if your making the turnsignals LED. LED's draw 1/10 the power of a bulb and that makes the flasher not fast blink but liotteraly buzz.
look here for LED bulbs and the flasher.

Re: Opinions Needed on LED Tail Lights
there is no complete led tail. all of them use bulb for the reverse and signal. yeah they make plug in led bulbs, but theyre not nearly as bright as filament bulbs which are hundreds of lumens (400-500 typical). the brightest hi power pnp bulbs barely break 100 lumens.
Re: Opinions Needed on LED Tail Lights
I just had a thought... maybe get LED lights in the tail housings, then custom mount some other type of halogen or other filament style bulb into the bumper as additional lighting since the LED's aren't too bright. Plus I'd still be able to get to them should they burn out.
Glad you mentioned that, Gearbox.
Thanks for the input, both of you!

Why not try to retrofit some LEDs into the tail light? I was thinking about doing this to my tail lights... both the brake lights and the turn signals.

Re: Opinions Needed on LED Tail Lights
its harder than it seems, mainly due to very limited space in the rear from the car frame, and you cant go crazy cutting the light from the back or it will look trashed from the front. i already messed up a pair trying, and i think the easiest way is to find a good quality fully assembled piece like the ones trucks use, and just stuff those inside.
