Looking to finally replace my factory stuff since the right speaker is going. Looking for a headunit that has good usb capability and sound quality, components that won't kill me in price, and some all around 6x9s. I will probably amp them most likely, but still am not sure what I am doing yet!!!


Would like to be on a budget if possible. Just looking for options.

I have this head unit and I like it. Has usb and also have a 4v output for the RCA outputs <-- which is good for subs.
Sound quality is pretty damn good.

For speakers I am a big alpine fan. I have 2 Type S 6x9s for my rears and I like they. You dont want high end speakers if you are running them off the head units power. Components that are cheap and good would be the pioneer components. My friend has these and they sound really really good.

for my head unit i did an avic d3 with bluetooth and sirius.. infinity reference components in the front and and infinity reference 6x9's

pretty much any headunit now a days are pretty damn good....

as for 6x9 infinity makes DAMN good speakers... i have kappas (the 3way ones) in my car...

if ur not planning to amp ur speakers seperately, make sure u dont get like 300w speakers....because ur headunit only supports 50w ish per speaker

yes Kappas are the way to go. I run this in my civic all around Kappa Perfects.

Sound amazing running off an infinity amp =P

For headunit. I love my alpines =P

I have an alpine head unit with the iPod connection and I LOVE it. Personally for the speakers I would just stick with the Alpine but I have a bias for them. Everyone's saying Kappas for the speakers and they are sexy but if I remember right pretty dang expensive too.

get a pioner super tuner 3 d series it will not break the bank and get you some rockford fosgate 6 x 9 they are one of the best

If you're gonna get a head unit, get one with HD radio or you'll probably regret it... Don't worry about how many watts it puts out, cuz if you're gonna spend the money on components; you're probably gonna get an amp for them. don't do anything stupid like getting lighning audio or radioshack brand.

Thanks guys for the responses so far. Im definitely set on either an alpine or kenwood head unit, just still undecided on 6x9s so far. I think for components, I may spend the cash and get those image dynamics 6.5s ctx65s since they are reasonably priced for components.
