AT shift linkage broken, stuck in park, how do I unlock wheels?

I have a 97 Civic HX (CVT transmission). My shifter was starting to get very stiff to pull through the gears for a while (I really needed to get the tranny rebuilt after 200k miles). So as I was pulling it from park into drive, it all of a sudden became extremely easy to move back and forth. Now the car is just permanently stuck in park it seems. I think my shift linkage between the shifter and the transmission is broken. For now, I just want to know how I can disengage the wheels from the transmission so that it can roll freely to make it easier to tow somewhere else. I have tried a lot of searching, but can't quite seem to find anything.

Thanks,
Chris
