Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!

Did you buy the car like this? Does it have wideband A/F gauge?

Quick down and dirty on A/FRs.

14.72 is stoichiometric and you want to idle at this ratio.

Under full boost and WOT and you want to be right around 11.5 - 12.0, no higher.

Partial throttle boost is tricky with a piggyback, but you should be reading around 12 -12.5.

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!

Eish. I'd get to reading the turbo FAQs on this site to see what you're getting in to. A turbo'd Honda Civic is a lot of work, and unless you have deep pockets, you better know what you're doing.

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!

I feel a T.E.A.R.S. member in the making. Positive manifold pressure (boost in layman's terms) is a long, hard and painful road. I pretty much built my engine by myself in my driveway and I STILL feel like I don't know enough to do it all properly. It's rewarding as hell, but it takes a lot to get there.

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!

To answer your question: BnT Performance in NC is a member on here and they can tune well.

First problem you're going to have is the E-Manage isn't the best... I have one. You'll at LEAST need to buy a pressure sensor for it if it doesn't already have one. Second, don't even THINK for A SECOND about running more than 5psi on that setup. It's almost the same as mine... other people might be risky and tell you you're OK up to 7 psi... don't listen to them. They haven't blown a motor up yet.

Third, I'd be surprised if that car hasn't been detonating. For 1.5 years and it hasn't been tuned? Or has it? If it's misfiring, then chances are no or at least not well. I would be VERY scared that it has already damaged something.

Lastly, buy a Cometic headgasket and ARP head studs. It will blow. You will need them anyway. Count on that.

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!

Ben, are you running a Cometic and if so, did you get one custom made? As far as I know the smallest bore size they have is a production gasket is 75.5mm, which is too big for the stock 75mm bore.

I'm doing my best to blow up my motor, but she just won't go!

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!

No... I'm on a stock HG. I didn't even know about cometic when I blew mine.... but overboosting, misfires, lean, rich, etc and she's still intact.

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!

sounds to me like somebody started a project, got in over their head and is trying to cut their losses....I'd be wary and start fresh if i were you...or say screw it and prepare for the pain.

BTW Clint, Chris doesn't seem to answer emails very well does he?? ...still waiting on the verdict about my misfires at idle

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!

Options:
1.) Purchase some bigger injectors and retune
2.) Lower the boost until you get a better tune.
3.) Try not boost as you drive the car now.

Questions: What are your air fuel ratios like rightnow at. Partial Throttle? Idle? WOT?
