Exclamation synchros...read this!!
my tranny is grinding third gear and everyone is telling me its the synchros.. so... does anyone kno where i can get synchros? im looking for high performance ones or something....i need to rebuild the tranny and put new synchros so they might as well be good ones...

why would i do that if i will probably run into the same problem again? might as well build the tranny so it can take abuse... from what i heard i messed them up from "shifting too fast"..

good luck with the synchros dude ... they sell em with gears now at honda which is like $200 bucks a gear i think

Befoere u go through the steps of changing ur tranny ... have u considered replacing ur clutch and changing the tranny fluid ?

how many miles do u have ?

i got 57,something.... i jus noticed that today about my clutch... i push the clutch pedal about a centimeter...or almost nothing before it disengages.... my pedal is very easy to push down..im pretty sure i have the stock clutch.. n i already change the tranny fluid... what do you think?

the answer to your problem. in 01 there was a TSB sent out by honda that the 3rd gear shift fork was bent at time of install from the factory. it worked for some time till there was wear put on the trans and on its internal componets. i also have an 01 it has done it for the last 30k miles i have been driving it. there is no recall do to the fact that it is not a safty issiue. call your closest honda dealer or even better stop by and ask them for a print off of the TSB on the 3rd gear problem. it will tell in detail what you need to do to fix the problem. hope this helps you. dont waste your money on a used one it will happen again.
