Ok i have an 02 lx coupe and it comes factory wit a tape player with no cd player... So my question is if i get a oem cd player from an ex model can i just plug it in???And it will work??

Dude just get an aftermarket cd player... Unless ur getting the EX cdplayer for free .. U can find a decent Pioneer mp3 player for under $100 ... The quality will be way more better than the stock Cdplayer and u wont have to worry about the code too. Just my 0.02

search ebay, usually $15-20 and it may be cheaper to just get the tape deck. im not sure if it will plug in, because they sell a separate cd player "addon" that plugs to the tape deck and mounts below it. if it was as easy as plugging in the cd player, i would think they wouldnt have made a whole new piece. but idk, i really dont know. have you asked around in the WTB forum? almost everyone here has aftermarket deck.

i absolutely hate the stock head unit in my civic, it doesnt give the time of the song playing, it skips over the smallest bumps, and doesnt like any cd-rw's or low quality cd-r's

it would be a huge mistake to put one in.

The only reason I put my Stock CD player back on my car after selling my Indash Dvd was that I love the way the CD player matches with the interior at night. I mean i just like the way the red display matches with everything starting from the driver side to the middle of the interior:-) I also dont like the reason why it doesnt show the time while playing the song, but so far I havent had any issues with CDr or skipping thanks god....

i only have cd-r's and i don't have problems with the cd player not liking them. i do have problems over bumps, but that just means i need to watch out for potholes and stuff. i like the way that the stock cd player fits in the dash, and i definitely agree that it looks really nice because it perfectly matches the rest of the interior lighting.

higher quality cd-r's do play alright, low qual cd-r's and cd-rw's in general, it spits right back at me. doesnt even attempt to play em. my head unit is such a quitter!

have to disagree there. the alpine is a much better match, the backlight is white led just like the 03+ cluster and buttons are amber/orange led. ive had people ask if it was a dealer upgrade lmao

DAmn Gearbox !!!! What model is that ??? Send me the model number please coz I have been looking for something to match the interior but i want it to be with all the goodies like Mp3player, Bluetooth and Ipod connector !

Seriously, I must say that your headunit really matches with the interior so much that its not peoples fault if they think its a dealer upgrade

@rest of the posters: Well Yeah I havent had any problems with any Cd-rs uptil now since 04... I do clean the lense every 8/12 months though with a lens cleaning cd and thats about it .

alpine 9847 is the deck. and for under $200, its well worth it. beats alot of higher end decks too. sound is amazing and still pretty good options and stuff.
