actually he is entitled to his own opinion as are all of you so shut up and realize this, also he doesnt have anything from autozone on his car i know i bought almost everything on his car as well as my own which i am done with i will put my car back mostly to stock and build a real motor that i will put into my eg coupe. if you think the d17a2 is so damn great then why is everybodies first response to can i make my car "fast swap a K into it"?

Dont get me wrong i think its one of the best looking civic bodies but lets call a spade a spade the motor isnt that great and with out mad amounts of money to boost its just no fun and for the money you drop on a d17 i will bet you my car that a b, h, or k will kill a 7thgen with the same amoutn of money if not less invested into it

might not be fast but definitely looks great and can have quite a bit of power pumped into it with enough money (even with a d series). Handles great too....just cus you have no money because your poor dont hate on a car which was built for fuel economy and takes more money than most other cars to get some decent power....go collect those food stamps!!

alright pal, what do you have to support your theory here? i happen to love my 7thgen in fact im tossing the idea around of making my next project another 7thgen.
oh and fyi the autozone exhaust (i work there....sadly) we carry brands like dc sports apexi and so on. so in retrospec youd be paying out the *** but still its quality exhaust we got rid of most of the cheap crap lol

in order to say its the worst generation, you'd have to say what makes it the worst. for performance, you could have a point. however the d17s are only 6 years old, why would an auto performance company invest in r&d for parts for the 7th gen when the previous gens are the ones always getting modded out?
its more profitable for companies to make parts for 4th, 5th, and 6th gen civic because they're cheaper and more people have them. come back in a coupe years and the 7th gens will take there spot and they'll have some descent parts for our d17s. so for performance, yes, right now, they suck.
however, as previously mentioned, they were not built for 13s on a budget, they were built for 40+mpg, and they do a very good job for that, along with reliability.
if you were looking for performance, you should have bought a vette.

I'm really glad this isn't locked yet. Although it is funny that homeboy dropped this little grenade in the bee's nest and then walked away to watch how we all get spun up.
The D17 is just a little late in getting aftermarket vendor and R&D support. Think about it. It is only what, 6 years old? How long have people been tinkering with the D15s and 16s? Plus most of their parts are interchangeable. So really, folks have had almost 19 years to come up with stuff. Give it time, we've already got a good start.

i like my 7th gen alot and for its looks make up for the slowness and as others said it was made for a fuel eff thank you very much fagmo i love my car better than any other car i see there is some stuff they could of done different but who cares then if you dont like it why did you get it jackA**

i work at a shop i get all of my parts for cost and if you think im poor then what the **** ever your dumb i have more nice stuff in my car then you probably have in your house and i have dumped a ton of money into my car to only still ahve a slow car sorry im not into turbo's to make a car fast just not my thing

GTFO! i got my honda cuz it was good on gas..i didnt start thinking about doing stuff to it till i came here. we all know its slow. but its a great looking car, great on gas and great for someone on a budget who wants a decent sporty lookin car. the girls like it...

everybody is entitled to there own opinions but u tell us to shut up? who the hell are u.... and no..we dont think the d17a2 is sooo great. no one ever said that. we actually think the complete opposite which is WHY we say drop a K into it. we just think the 7th gen is a great car. it just has a garbage motor. think before you talk cuz ur likely to get owned.

Wow, what a touchy subject.
I'm sorry, but I've got to agree that the d17 is pure garbage. I bought my car for how ****ing great it looks and great gas mileage, but I also thought that there was a possibility of making it somewhat quick without having to break in to internals & boost.. Before someone says it (again) I know I should've done my research, but I didn't have the time to do research when I got my car. I had one day to find a new car and hadn't even considered getting a new car before that day... but my car broke down and I had to replace it or lose my job, which wasn't an option.
In any case, I see what some people in here are saying.. it's wrong to say "dis is teh wrst gen civic evar you homo gay queers" just because you're so damn ignorant that you don't know any better. I hate how damn slow my car is too, and I would love to get rid of it just for that reason. I think that Honda really ****ed up with the design of the 01-05 civics, including the 02-05 ep3. There's no denying that they achieved what they were going for, but their target was a very bad one. High MPG could have been achieved very easily had they just scaled down the k20a3 like they did with the r18, but instead of putting what they knew would work into the em2's and es1's they opted for a horrible d17 that made such little power that it's absolutely absurd. The k20a3 was joke for obvious reasons too..
But, the thing is, I wouldn't trade my 7th gen for a 6th gen any day of the week. I think that my em2 has an awesome design, not to mention it's the only car (besides my 92 regal gs) that I've been completely comfortable driving for extended periods of time.
Anyways, the fanboi and emo ***** loving comments don't help at all.. just an fyi.

i am not knocking the looks of the car and my brother is not either its the motor which i have put time and money into and its quicker than most non turbo 7thgens kind of fun to drive BUT go put the same amount of money i put into my d17a2 into a d16y8 and your **** will run much faster and harder and for those boost junkies out there yes 3 or 4 people out of how many have "good"numbers thats cool for them, but again invest that money into another motor and you will be pushing more power, yes its an economy motor your right but to say that just about any honda motor (not all of them )isnt fuel economic is a lie yet they can be fast.
