map sensor questions!

ok every now and then ill get a CEL...some times its a baro sensor code but the car will still run ok. others will be a MAP sensor code and my car will dump fuel like crazy and at idle my AF will be 8 something and itll die immediatly. i want to know what to do about this?

i dont want to run a missing link if i dont have to. i dont want to "fool" the ECU or the sensor. i want to know if i can run a GM 3 bar sensor..or maybe a motorola 2.5 bar. how would i wire them in? is it like any other civic? where i justwire the clip in and run with it? do i need a retune? what about the missing link? if this is my only option...what do i do with it? do i need a retune with that too?

someone help?

Re: map sensor questions!

you'd need a Kpro or EMS to switch the MAP sensor. You have to program the calibration into the ECU so it reads right, and regardless of what you do, its gonna **** off the stock ECU, since once it reads positive pressure, it'll throw a code.
Ditch the piggyback.

Re: map sensor questions!

You're running e-manage, run the voltage clamp to solve this issue.

Re: map sensor questions!

the car runs great otherwise...im just trying to solve the map sensor codes...i can run for days and run hard for days and not get a code....then all of a sudden itll throw it. the car is boosted on a Dezod kit. it is tunned to 12psi but i only run 9. im not so sure how to get the voltage clamp to work. we messed with it a little bit but had more problems than success. im out of money to get the car tunned again. and the tunner swears it runs great. and its funny....i get up there...and the car will run like a dream. he will be sitting right beside me goin down the road and itll be fine.....as soon as he gets out...it acts up? i dont get it. i think i just need a different tunner.
