couple of car problems

Ok i have a couple of problems for my 2005 EX Honda Civic 22,000 miles on it

In the mornings or when i first start my car after awhile my power steering belt makes a really loud like squeaking or grinding sound.... i brought it to the dealer and they said it was loose so they just tightened it... well it didn't do any good to it. Especially after it rains the sound is extremely loud... and i mean it makes my car sound soooo shitty. But it usually goes away after no more than 5 minutes... i think it might be the belt tensioner? suggestions? should i just get a new belt?

When i switch my car from D to R and vice versa i can hear the gears change really loudly, like clanking sound...... i mean it doesn't sound bad... but is it supposed to be this loud where i can hear the gears change.

Then when im driving then braking... not extremely hard but slowing down rather fast... my car would switch down a gear really fast and the RPM would jump from like 2000 to 3500 and my whole car would lurch from the quick change in gears.... is that normal?

Then when im accelerating hard i hear a grinding sound from the engine..... sounds like the power steering belt but not exactly sure

I have tested all of these problems many times.... tried repeating the same things with my parents car , 2004 toyota corolla and there car NEVER does the same thing my car does.

Generally when your belt squeaks really bad is the belt tensioner so you may want to start there, put a little pressure on it and if it has a lot of "play" the adjust the tensioner. i would only replace the belt if you see significant damage to the belt itself

When i switch my car from D to R and vice versa i can hear the gears change really loudly, like clanking sound...... i mean it doesn't sound bad... but is it supposed to be this loud where i can hear the gears change.
I drive a manual so i cant necessarily say yes or no for a honda but on any automatic i have ever driven there has never been sounds when shifting from D to R and R to D unless the vehicle was still moving when making the switch. so hopefully you arent still rolling when shifting

once again that doesnt seem normal most autos change smoothly more or less when decelerating and doesnt jump to a low gear unless you suddenly hop back on the gas

Then when im accelerating hard i hear a grinding sound from the engine..... sounds like the power steering belt but not exactly sure
**** with all the trans issues that you seem to have i doubt a power stearing belt would be doing that... im almost wondering if you might want to look at your transmission fluid... or possibly lack there of and maybe if your lucky that might be the solution to all 3 of your issues

Re: couple of car problems

for the belt squeaking in the rain check your wheel well, i know that when i drive over a large puddle, my belt sqeaks cause its wet, maybe your letting water near the belt.

As for changing gears, if you shift it rough, from like P to R or D, it will sound loud, you have to baby it, you dont want to just pull on it, you want to steadly pull the shifter gently towards you, and it will get into gear without a noise.
