Advice Needed, Going to Track Day
Advice Needed, Going to Track Day
Hey,
I ve been searching and cant find what im looking for.
Car Specs-5 bolt rsx suspension swap 2001 4dr civic.
Club RSX Springs up front.-mounted
OEM RSX TypeS Springs in the Rear-mounted
Xtra set of Shock Assemblies w/Club RSX springs-not mounted
Pls no "How come? OEM in the rears" long story..
Going to a track day this Sunday. (whos gonna do a alignment on a Saturday)
Track is a tight technical track.Fairly slow speeds.
Need some quick advice.
1. Should I keep it as it is?
Club RSX Springs in Front
OEM TypeS in the Rear
2. Mount the Club RSX Spring Assembly.
3.Which one will handle better. Considering the Spring Rate of the RSX Springs, Club RSX and OEM
Thanks

Re: Advice Needed, Going to Track Day
There is a reason why so many racing events have practice scheduled. It is provided so teams can run their car, test different setups, and conclude on the setup that gives them the best time.
I don't know which setup you normally use, but I would recommend just sticking to what you are use to. By switching the setup, you can change the handling characteristics of the car and you might not be able to control it as well as the setup you normally use. Therefore, even if the new setup is better for the track you might not be able to utilize it as well and end up with a slower time.
This is the same reason why people always say when you autox keep it stock learn the limits, learn to control it at the limits, then when you make a modification you will be more educated on what you can and cannot do, not to mention the learning curve of the new setup will be much smaller.

RSX springs in a 4 door. How does that sit? I agree with Boggie, keep it what your used to, first time on the track is'nt the bast place to try a new set up. is your car insurance VOID at the track?
Re: Advice Needed, Going to Track Day
the car looks like its set up for drag racing.
sorta like this... rear \ front.
\=car stance
Re: Advice Needed, Going to Track Day
rear\ front lol.....well most people are going to agree with whats already been said. it makes sense thats why. just stick with what ur used to and go for it.

Re: Advice Needed, Going to Track Day
I take it that this is your 1st track day?
If so, then dont bother changing any thing thinking you are going to be "faster" that way. Simply because right now, the only thing thats going to be making you slow is well..... You.
So go run the event, have fun, try to learn some things. You wont really be alble to "tune" the car untill you've become a proficent driver any way.
