Replacing the clutch in an '87 Civic, tips needed

Hi there I (well my dad) have a 1987 Honda Civic and the clutch is starting to go. I really have no idea what to do. Me and my dad are going to work on it this Sunday, and I would appreciate some tips. My dad was a mechanic at a semi-truck mechanics shop, and he really likes the old Civics, and he probably knows what to do. Although he knows how to do it, I'm not sure if he ever has/has recently. So, with that, if anyone has any tips on replacing the clutch/info on what to do, that would be great
