the cheapest around here to tint is like 180bucks..
and static tint is a tint film (feels like vinyl stickers i guess) and you wash your window with soap and leave the water on the window.. then you stick on the tint and squeegee the water out. well thats wat the instructions says. havnt tried it yet, planning on doing it tomorrow

self tinting sounds like a big pain in the a$$...I'm getting mine done in 2 weeks for $150 Canadian...it should be way cheaper in US dollars...you should just save up and avoid the hassle..plus you get lifetime warranty from the place that does it...i doubt there's any warranty on that department store stuff...

If your going to do this your self, the best way to cut the tint to fit is to lay a sheet of tint outside the window to be tinted. Take a razor blade and cut the tint to the shape of the window, be carful not to scratch your paint.
I'd pay the $120 and get it done right the first time, because the stuff your going to use will look like CRAP in a few weeks.

I agree. I have a friend that did the static tint. I looked like crap within the next month. Had to chuck out the tints because they creased when she open and closed her windows. I don't recommend them. Get your tints done. It is worth it. You will not like the static ones. Waste of money.
i had it professionally done 20 % for 65 bucks and its very clean, my friend tried what you want to do with the cheaper walmart tint. he HAD a razor blade and when he tried to cut the piece for the back glass, it didn't cut, it tore. the edges were horrible. and he didn't have enough material to cover his back window in one piece.
save your twenty dollars plus an extra $40 and get tint done right the first time

I'm not sure what kind of tint you've got, but when I did mine I had some little air bubbles. They slowly faded away as the tint tried. Is what wha you have? Are they tiny?
I have had my front doors done so much finally got it to the tint I like but $175 for professional solar gard with a warranty for 6% on th back 3 and for 32% on the front 2 doors and window strip when I first had tint put on my car when I bought it. But well worth it just had bad experience with my dealer when I went darker 2nd time but oh well my last tint job I went to another place and they did the best job I have ever seen.
Doing tint yourself I feel is a waiste the quality of films are horrible unless you have the hook up

I had my mine done by a pro. He actully takes your whole interior apart to get a perfect fit for the tint. I watched him do the whole thing. It cost $225, I know it sounds a bit much, but they have a life time warrently. If it ever bubbles they'll do it again for free. Most places you can't roll your windows down for a while but this shop you can roll them down off the lot.
Wow roll them down after the lot? Amazing stuff right there every tint job I got done it was like 2-3 days but I went more like 5 days just to give them more time. Still waiting 30 days to wash them though even though this guy didn't get me a time, going with the normal tint instructions I have got in the past.
aferenz what tint percentages did you go with?

roll them down out the lot? wow, that IS nice. I wanna get mirror tint done ... it's legal to have down here, but it's illegal to install it (dumb laws) anyone know how much something like that would cost??
