Wheel Gap

A lot of people lowered their car 2".
Why 2"?
Lets say you lower your car for 2", how much wheel gap is still left for the front and rear wheel?
Just wondering.....

springs or coilovers are really bad for your suspension without shocks.... especially on our cars...the 7th gen civics suspension sux and the shocks blow out really quick when just lowered with springs... just buy the springs now... wait till about summer when new cheaper shocks come out buy those and install them at the same time.... you'll save the headache of suspension problems down the road.... but that's just what i'd do...

I have Sportlines on mine, box said 1.4in drop but it actually made a 2in drop both in front and in back. My mesurments are close to JeffSpeed21 .5 in front and 1in in rear.... Pics below if interested at My Ride Link.

Do you think that without the wheel gap it would probably looks better?

Well less wheel gap is better but I wanted to avoid tucking the wheels and also couldent afford new shocks. If you want to go low you will definatly need shocks or you will blow your stock ones. I was told that the drop on mine would be sufficient for about half of the origional life expectancy of my stock shocks so until they blow Ill be riding on them. After that time Ill fork over the cash for new ones. Ideal wheel gap in my opinion is that both front and back frame appears to be resting on the wheel itself so basicly no wheel gap at all. To do this you need to make sure the tire wont rub and I would guess about a 2.5-3in drop. Thats just my guess so before you buy ask around and mesure for yourself. Each vehicle is different like I said before mine dropped 2in instead of 1.4in. Hope all this helps and thanks for the complimant on my ride.

Oh one more thing, if your looking for a specific look you might want to try Ground Control's or another adjustible coilover so you can tweak it to your taste both on the origional install and after they settle. My rear springs are still settling slightly. But remember each time you change the height on the adjustable ones its a good idea to check the alignment or you might find yourself eating rubber.

Peace,
Ozzy
