its time for a new suspension...but whats good these days

i have had a b+g coilover system for about 2-3 years now and i have not been very impressed at all...its bumpy and loud and its time for a new setup

but what is good ?

ive looked at tein basics but i really have no need to adjust anymore
what about eibach coils?
koni struts and springs

and then there are products like omni power? i have no idea anymore

anyone in the same boat or have advice
i just want the smoothest ride possible with about 1.8-2.5 drop

omni is very stiff...and you'll feel EVERYTHING on the road....

basics are nice and soft....so if u want some performance gains and a practical DD, then get basics..

or you can go with a lower spring rate GC+knois

^ brand new they are about 900 US? I'm sure you can work out a deal with him.

If they indeed have 15k on them and the driver drove on them relatively nice then they'd be fine still.

after doing some research, i want to go with eibach pros and tokico blues. i want a pretty much stock ride with a moderate drop. someone said this setup rode better and smoother than the OEM setup.

wow thats weird. I have had the B+G's on my car going on two years. I have absolutely trashed this supsension. In the snow, -0 temps, 100+ temps, rocky, bumpy, mountain roads. Everywhere. I took these to school with me & to travel all over the country. I am in love with em. Not one leak, no noises from em. The ride is awesome, very nice a smooth. The self adjusting feature works great, you can really start to feel them stiffen up when you throw the car around. A+ handling aswell!!

ok this is kind of off topic but i really need some help here and i dont wanna start my own thread cuz i'll just get flamed. I want what electric130 wants. A smooth ride with a moderate drop. What is my best bet. I know it isnt that much money but i really dont wanna have to buy a camber kit and i dont wanna buy new struts. Which springs just springs would be the best choice for me. I would love tien h-tech's but they're a bit pricy. I was thinking H&R springs. What do you guys think. Will these work for what i want to do???

You'll need to buy two things.

1. a decent set of dampers. (Koni, Tokico, ect...)

and

2. A progressive rated spring. (just pick one that has the drop you want)

why buy new struts... simply because you'll need them to mainitain a smoth ride, given that anything other then oem springs will destroy the OEM dampers.

If you are strapped for cash, buy the dampers 1st then save again for springs.

if you want to lower your car, you are crazy not to get a camber kit... bottom line. Save up and do it all later, or use junk tires because w/o a camber kit, the tires will be messed up. I've learned the hard way myself

I have Falken Ziex tires on the way

thanks for that. Im startin to get really frustrated right now tho. I thought i was going to be safe by buying H&R springs that only do 1.3" well after checkin out peoples car with them installed it looks more like a 2" drop. Why is it that the manufacturer can't even get their drops figured out. I want a 1"-1.5" drop cuz in canada i dont wanna be hittin stuff how hard is it to find one without spending $200+ on just springs

get an eibach pro kit for that drop. and good luck getting a whole setup for $200. i'm looking for at least $500 for tokico blues and eibach pro kit, plus a camber kit. i know its only 1.3" drop, but i'm still gonna do the camber kit. don't want to have to replace tires prematurely.

I've had a set of goldline springs on my car since when they first came out. I believe there were originally suppose to be between a 1.5" - 2.0" drop. Now my rear tires are completely tucked in and my front ones are just about to. My suspension is completely blown now, which I did expect, though.
I think I'm going to go with a set of new Tokico HP performance shocks and deciding between the two different tein spring kits. I don't care so much about the performance anymore, just want a pretty smooth ride with something that's lower than stock. Anybody else have any input on this?
