auto insurance/speeding ticket story...
i just thought i'd pass on an experience i had with the law and my auto insurance. about two years ago i recieved two tickets, simultaneously, one for speeding (27km over) and one for not wearing my eye glasses. the total fines were a little over $240 and 3 points. these were the first two tickets i recieved since i got my G2 five years ago. i thought i would check with ex-coppers and see what they could do for me. the answer to that was, "not a damn thing!" except sucking up $450 of my cash to go to court for me with no guarantees so i said to hell with that and decided to defend myself in court. that turned out to be the RIGHT choice. almost a year and three months later my trial day finally came up. i arrived at court about ten minutes early and headed to see the prosecuter. to my surprise i got my speeding ticket reduced to 10 over and judge dropped the glasses ticket before i could even explain myself. the whole process took about 15 minutes and i got out of there with a $40 fine and no points. haha! i was more than pleased with the results. now my only worry was with my insurance company as i did plead guilty to and was convicted of minor speeding. so lets jump nine months to today when i recieved my insurance renewal and guess what? my insurance went down by $50 a month! thats $600 savings for me!! anyways i later found out that my insurance company allows up to 3 minor traffic violations before they even review your policy. now that's cool!

i think a major is stuff like (eg. street racing, reckless driving causing death, driving while intoxicated, 50+ over the speed limit, running from the police, firing a gun at the police, etc.) i think some of the ones i mentioned can get you a few years in the can as well as lose your license indefinately.

Dude how much was ur insurance to begin with if it dropped $50 a month. I get my g2 next week and my insurance is only gonna be 270.83 a month (3250/yr) to be a principle driver.

if you just got you g2 then you can forget about low rates bro. it doesn't matter how old you are either. your rates will not see a significant fall for at least the next five years. most insurance companies won't even consider lowering your rates until you've been accident, claim, and traffic violation free for at least three years.
