A/F Ratio Question
Hey guys, got a free auto meter air/fuel ratio meter from a friend who thought he could use it on his car but he couldn't.
My question though, what do I need to do to make it wideband? I found this kit on auto meter's website
Auto Meter
Will that work or not? The gauge gas three wires running off it, one power, one ground, and one sensor wire. If I get this kit, will I be able to just run it off the sensor wire and make it wideband with the correct sensor?

You need a wideband sensor and a wideband gauge that can read and process the wider range of lambda values.
That kit is a 3 wire O2 sensor. Widebands have 5.
To my knowledge, there is no autometer wideband.

Well, then do I neccisarily need a wideband? I could really care less if i see a digital numerical readout. I mean people use things like this on drag cars and get by with it. All I need to know is it rich, stoich, or lean. So if I bought that harness, and used my gauge I got, will I get an accurate reading without it jumping around like a narrowband? And will it hook into my stock harness?

I have this gauge. And I get exactly that, I light show. I always thought it was cause I installed it wrong. I just need a freakin 3 gauge pillar cluster.
