Ive had my 06 coupe for 7 months now, since then ive been asked its a mazda and asked if its a scion, but most of the time people just say hey man what the hell kinna car is that?

Just curious what other members have been asked regarding their FA's and FG's?

I work in a business where alot of people drive trucks or suvs. So when I showed up in my civic, The popular question was "Is that your go kart?" Usually after they sat inside it they were impressed how much you can get in a Civic these days. Im actually seeing alot of 06 and 07s on the road now. 3 were at the gas station this afternoon. Looked like we were having a meet. Ive also noticed that the coupe community is a little more aware of other coupes and usually gives the customary nod or 1 finger wave.

I have been asked several times if it was a Hybrid, usually because of the front end shape. Many don't recognize it as a Honda, either.

An interesting tidbit pertaining to G8 hybrids is that (of course it could just be coincidence that they happen to think its a hybrid), in Europe, the "normal" civic is actually a completely different car but the hybrid is a G8 in JDM guise. The JDM G8 is the same as ours with the exception of the front and rear bumpers and the head and taillights. (and, of course, the engines). One thing i never understood though was the instrument cluster lighting. In the regular civics (US domestic) the instruments are all backlit with blue electroluminescents and in the Si, they're red. So why couldn't they make the ones in the Hybrid green?
But yeah. I had a friend up at college who i gave a ride to class one day (20 degrees Farenheit). He got in and took one look at the dashboard and immediately said "What kind of car is this?" To which i replied, of course, "It's a Honda Civic." to which he's like "REALLY?!?" I was actually one of the first people in New Orleans to get one b/c i had to go to Alabama since they didn't have them at the Honda dealerships here yet (Katrina's fault) so i got a lot of looks and a few questions. Now, of course, you see them everywhere.

My wife primarily drives our 07' EX Sedan...it's silver with 20% Tinted windows...everyone is always complimenting her on the car...saying how nice it is...then they usually ask...what kind of car is it...

I was sitting in traffic waiting for a construction worker to turn the Stop sign he was holding to the Slow side so I could proceed along the road to work. As I was sitting there jamming to some Radiohead, I saw him mouth something to me and smile. I turned the volume down and leaned my head out the window and asked him what he'd said. He goes, "How do you like your car, man?" I smiled, nodded, and said, "Best car I've ever owned!" He smiled and responded, "Do me a favor: ignore the sign when you go by...lemme hear it rip!"...

I obliged.
