hey guys,
hate to break the news to all of you, but thats not an OEM problem...
that is due to water getting on your SRI filter...which for some reason trips out our engines. if anyone else has some other information about why this happens, then let me know, but this is the conclusion that i've come to.

i have the same damn problem. i have 2.25 piping and a apexi muffler. i have the CAI, and that is pretty low to the ground but last time i checked the SRI is not that close to the ground, so what ur saying is that the intake is taking water, and the noise is coming from about the middle of my car, by the stick....that doesnt connect in my mind to well. explain further

I have 5speed.......i dont think my SRI has ever seen water fo r the life of it...........
I called my dealer, he said its the aluminum heat shields above the whole exuast system.........
personally i dont believe its that either.............It sounds like my Cat is lose.......
I ve went through the whole exaust system though and have found nothing.........
I dont know what it is, but some time in the future (when it bugs me enough)...Im taking it in to the dealer....He said even W/ my custom exauhst he'd figure it out.........
If anyone has any further info...that'd be nice

No its not an aftermarket problem. A lot of us have been having that problem from ages ago and I recently did a search for that grinding sound thread but couldn't find it. I thought that sound was long gone frrom my car until about a month or so ago when it rained hard and ultimately had that grinding noise again when running on puddles.
