at how many miles did/do you get new brake pads?
i've had my car since...july 2001...and i have about 19,000 miles on my car....i've been hearing really weird noises from all around the bottom of my car when i accelerate after being stopped (at a red light or stop sign...whatever ) and i had the dealers check it when i went to go get my oil change....they told me i had to get new brake pads in the next 4 or 5,000 miles...they said i used up 75% of my brakes already....they said the noise is from the brakes...but it doesn't sound like it....i'm not one of those drivers that brake for no stupid reason or step on the brake pedal real hard....so i just thought it was kinda fast to be getting new brake pads already...

Is it like some sort of clanging sound? kinda like when u first pull out and stop down the road?.. i get it but only happens when i first brake out of the garage, then after it's fine.
I get squeeching noises from my brakes, but that's the brake dust build up on new brakes.. going for my 32k tune up next week so i'll find out if need to replace them yet or not..
My pads wore out at 21K miles...
Before I had them replaced, they were very loud when I broke hard, like a loud rubbing noise (not squeaky). I thought it was pretty soon to have the pads replaced but, from what I've heard, the dealerships use crappy pads...
I think next time I have them done I am gonna go somewhere else

I have almost 33k and I just rotated my tires about 1k ago (last oil change)
I still have a fair amount of pad left, I estimate that vs the stock pad size I should easily be able to squeeze another 10-15k out of them before I hit the replacement indicators

FStrat94, do you do constant hard braking? That seems rather soon for replacements already. And from what I have always heard about Hondas, Do not put on any pads other than the OEM ones. Unless you have replaced your whole rotor/caliper. My past Hondas had real finiky brakes. The rotors had to be turned while on the car. I put new rotors and new afermarket pads in my Accord and within weeks they were vibrating. took them to honda and they turned them and replaced the pads and I never had a problem again.
<< 6k, i have to replace my pads...and im getting free ones..because i told them i had defected brakes...but it was because of my driving..im lucky to get free brakes though...
>>i did the same thing breaks went out at 8000 miles, and i told them that my brakes had to be defected.
i just today (4/10/2002) got my brake pads, changed by the dealership for free along with the rotors being resurfaced... i didnt even pay for the brake pads, i got some EBC Green pads and man you can stop on a dime! i love them and the brakeing system is fine..
I had to change mine at 15,000 I think it was because I was getting tireshine on my rotors therefore transferring it to my pads, that's all I could think it was. I cut a piece of cardboard to cover up my rim when I sprayed it and now i'm at 37,000 miles, and i haven't had a prob.
